Everything went according to plan when second ranked Bennet Cantu (5-2) beat at home 9th ranked Pepsi Caserta (3-3) 86-75 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 47-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bennet Cantu made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Bennet Cantu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was a great evening for American swingman David Lighty (195-88, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Gianluca Basile (192-75) helped adding 23 points (made all of his seven free throws). Bennet Cantu's coach Andrea Trinchieri used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Nigerian-Jamaican guard Oritseweyinmi Efejuku (196-86, college: Providence) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Slovenian forward Marko Tusek (203-75, agency: Alti Sport) scored 16 points. Bennet Cantu maintains second place with 5-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Armani MI, which they share with Montepaschi. Pepsi Caserta lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Bennet Cantu will face Lottomatica Roma (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pepsi Caserta will play against the league's leader Armani Milano.
