Important game to mention about took place in Hasharon. Ninth ranked Elitzur Ramla (1-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging second-best Ramat Hasharon (2-1) 70-67 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ramat Hasharon. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ramat Hasharon won fourth quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Elitzur Ramla made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Laine Selwyn (172-81, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Data Plus Group) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. American center Taj McWilliams-Franklin (189-70, college: St.Edward's, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Jamaican-American guard Maurita Reid (173-85, college: Miami, FL) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Porsha Phillips (187-88, college: Georgia) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Ramat Hasharon in the defeat. Five Ramat Hasharon players scored in double figures. Defending champion left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with Hap.Petah Tikva. Ramat Hasharon at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Bnot Hasharon. Elitzur Ramla will play against Elitzur Holon (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ramat Hasharon will play against Hap.Petah Tikva (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
