Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Latvian Jelgava (0-5) was defeated at home by third ranked Estonian BC Rakvere (2-2) 80-63 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-63. BC Rakvere outrebounded Jelgava 41-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Reinar Hallik (208-84) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Latvian center Kaspars Cipruss (210-82, agency: Interperformances) who added 18 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four BC Rakvere players scored in double figures. Swingman Edgars Krumins (194-86) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Kyle Nelson (203-89, college: Augustana, IL, agency: N.E.T.) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. BC Rakvere maintains third position in Group A with 2-2 record having four points less than leader Naglis Palangos. Loser Jelgava still closes the standings with five games lost. BC Rakvere will have a break next round. Jelgava will play at home against Barsy Atyrau (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
