Regular Season Round 12: Palencia - Granada 86-80

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked CB Granada (4-8) lost on the road to sixth ranked Palencia Baloncesto (7-4) 86-80 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CB Granada won third quarter 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Palencia Baloncesto won last quarter 19-15. It was a good game for Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Adrian Moss (204-81, college: Florida) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Roberto Guerra (195-83) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and power forward Eduardo Ruiz (205-83) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for CB Granada. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Palencia Baloncesto have a solid three-game winning streak. Palencia Baloncesto moved-up to fourth place. CB Granada lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Palencia Baloncesto will face higher ranked Ford Burgos (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. CB Granada will play against Lobe Huesca (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
