An interesting game took place in Angra Heroismo where 7th ranked Terceira Basket (2-5) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Barcelos (3-5) 76-69 on Saturday. Terceira Basket was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Barcelos forced 21 Terceira Basket turnovers. The best player for the winners was Spanish power forward Sergi Coll (204-82) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Nuno Oliveira (186-89) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Canadian center Jonas Pierre (209-80, college: Lincoln, MO) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Durrell Nevels (198-86, college: Cent.Arkansas) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Barcelos moved-up to seventh place. Terceira Basket lost fifth consecutive game. Terceira Basket at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Barcelos will meet higher ranked Lusitania (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Terceira Basket will play against Academica in Coimbra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
