Regular Season Round 7: AGOR - Marousi 79-64

Bottom-ranked Marousi (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 79-64 loss to ninth ranked AGOR (3-3) in Rethymno. The game was mostly controlled by AGOR. Marousi was better in second period 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Zack Wright (188-85, college: Central Mo.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Dionte Christmas (196-86, college: Temple) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international forward Nestoras Kommatos (203-77) answered with 22 points and the former international power forward Dimitris Haritopoulos (206-83, agency: FCM) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Marousi. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AGOR moved-up to seventh place. Marousi at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. AGOR will play against league's second-placed Panionios in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Marousi will play at home against Peristeri GS (#5) in Athens and hopes to get finally their first victory.
