Regular Season Round 12: Recanati - FCM Ferentino 71-108

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when third ranked Ferentino (8-4) smashed on the road second-best Recanati (6-6) 108-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferentino. Recanati was better in second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferentino dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Recanati's 34. They outrebounded Recanati 42-23 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (198-80, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (207-91) who added 19 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Ferentino's coach Franco Gramenzi felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Marco Ceron (195-92) with 19 points and forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Ferentino keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Casalpusterlengo and Trieste. Loser Recanati keeps the second place with six games lost. Ferentino will face Ruvo (#6) in Ruvo di Puglia in the next round where they are favorite. Recanati will play on the road against Orlandina (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
