Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Fujian SBS XunXin and 15th ranked Qingdao Double Star had identical 2-4 record. But Qingdao Double Star was not able to use a home court advantage and was outscored by the opponent from Jinjiang 120-96 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Fujian SBS XunXin. Qingdao Double Star managed to win second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujian SBS XunXin dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Qingdao Double Star's 56. American center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) fired 40 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field) for the winners. Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds. Five Fujian SBS XunXin players scored in double figures. American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tenn-Martin) produced 29 points and 8 assists and Palestinian power forward Sani Sakakini (203-88) added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fujian SBS XunXin (3-4) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Qingdao Double Star keeps the fifteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Jiangsu D. and TianJin R.. Fujian SBS XunXin will meet at home Shandong Bulls (#12) in the next round. Qingdao Double Star will play against Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi and hope to secure a win.
