Very expected game when 6th ranked LrNMKY (7-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (11-4) 84-78 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Loimaan Korikonkarit outrebounded LrNMKY 44-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Lawrence Hamm (198-84, college: Towson, agency: Court Side) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and guard DeAndre Haynes (187-84, college: Kent St., agency: Court Side) added 19 points respectively. Loimaan Korikonkarit maintains second position with 11-4 record having five points less than leader Kataja, which they share with Pyrinto. Loser LrNMKY dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Loimaan Korikonkarit will meet Kouvot (#6) in the next round. LrNMKY will play against Torpan Pojat in Helsinki and hope to secure a win.
