Regular Season Round 9: Zhejiang CB - Beijing Ducks 98-101

The most exciting game of round 9 in the CBA took place in Hangzhou. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placed Zhejiang Cyclones (5-2) to leader Beijing Ducks (9-0) 101-98 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Zhejiang Cyclones. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-18. But Zhejiang Cyclones won second period 28-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 30 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Beijing Ducks' coach LuLei Min used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard J.R. Smith (198-85) answered with 43 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) added 19 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Zhejiang Cyclones. Four Zhejiang Cyclones players scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Zhejiang Cyclones at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. They share it with Xinjiang F.T.. Beijing Ducks are looking forward to face Jiangsu Dragons (#14) in Nanjing in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Zhejiang Cyclones will play on the road against TianJin Rongcheng (#17) in Tianjin and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
