Regular Season Round 15: Azovmash - BC Kyiv 96-78

Leader Azovmash delivered the twelfth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 9th ranked BC Kyiv (8-8) 96-78 in Mariupol. The game was mostly controlled by Azovmash. BC Kyiv managed to win third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Azovmash especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St.) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Derrick Zimmerman (191-81, college: Mississippi St.) with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Vladyslav Podolyan (196-86) scored 18 points. BC Kyiv's coach Vitaliy Cherniy let to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Azovmash maintains first place with 12-4 record, which they share with BC Donetsk. BC Kyiv at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
