Regular Season Round 11: Taby - Talje 87-82

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Talje Knights (4-7) were defeated on the road by third ranked Taby Basket (9-2) 87-82 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Talje Knights trailed by 21 points at halftime and as many as 26 after three quarters before a 39-18 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 82-87 at the end of the game. Taby Basket outrebounded Talje Knights 43-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. Talje Knights were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Mikael Banks (191-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Frank Nordin helped adding 25 points and 11 rebounds. Taby Basket's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Guard Mario Blazevic (179-93) responded with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Gustav Sundstrom scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Talje Knights players scored in double figures. Taby Basket moved-up to second place in North, which they share with LF Future. Talje Knights at the other side keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Taby Basket will face KFUM Uppsala (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Talje Knights will play against KFUM Blackebergs in Vallingby and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
