Regular Season Round 12: Oshawa P. - London L. 80-87

Date: December 11, 2011
The Oshawa Power lose the final game of their mini three game series to the London Lightning 87-80 at the GM Centre in Oshawa. The Lightning take the short series two games to one, with both wins coming on the road. The final game of the series began with an Oshawa Power surge, as the Power controlled the first half and took a 46-34 lead into the locker room at halftime. Much like the first meeting Thursday night, it was a big third quarter by the Lightning that put them in position to steal one on the road. The Lightning started off the third frame on a 13-0 run, and with the late game heroics of former NBA player Rodney Buford they closed out the seven point victory. Canadian Paul Campbell had his best game in his short time in a Power jersey recording 8 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks. “Great presence, great energy” said Canadian Point Guard Tut Ruach of Campbell. “He helped us a lot on defense and gave us some buckets.” His size and athleticism is a welcome sight to Power fans, as he was noticeably active all night long. Marcus Johnson continued his strong play in the absence of first overall draft pick Morgan Lewis as he led all scorers with 24 points. Power Forward Omari Johnson added a near double-double with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Gabe Freeman added another double-double on the season for the Lightning, recording 20 points and 12 rebounds. Eddie Smith added 19 points in the win.The Power will head to the University of Laval to take on the Quebec Kebs on Friday December 16 at 7:30 p.m. *Courtesy of www.oyetimes.com
