Regular Season Round 11: Shanghai S. - Xinjiang FT 88-84

The game between third ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (6-3) and fifteenth ranked Shanghai Sharks (3-7) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Xinjiang Flying Tige was defeated by Shanghai Sharks in a tough game in Shanghai 84-88. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. Xinjiang Flying Tige was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-19 charge of Shanghai Sharks, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Ryan Forehan-Kelly (196-80, college: California) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. Australian point guard Patrick Mills (183-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Kenyon Martin (206-77, college: Cincinnati) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Foshan. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Zhejiang C. and Shanxi Zh.. Shanghai Sharks is looking forward to face higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#3) in Taiyuan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play on the road against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in Hangzhou and is hoping to win this game.
