There was no surprise when 16th ranked CB Clavijo (5-9) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Basquet Mallorca (7-7) 91-79. The game was mostly controlled by Basquet Mallorca. CB Clavijo was better in second period 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Center Miguel Angel Garcia (205-85) notched 21 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) to lead the effort and American forward Shaun Green (203-87, college: Utah, agency: Limelight Hoops) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by Nigerian power forward Olaseni Lawal (208-86, college: Wayne St., MI) did not help to save the game for CB Clavijo. American point guard Mathew Witt (183-84, college: E.Kentucky) added 13 points and 5 assists for the guests. Five Basquet Mallorca and four CB Clavijo players scored in double figures. CB Clavijo's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Basquet Mallorca moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. CB Clavijo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Basquet Mallorca's next round opponent will be Girona FC (#8) on the road. CB Clavijo will play against Melilla Baloncesto (#6).
