Very expected game when 12th ranked Silute (9-13) was edged at home by sixth ranked Statyba (13-9) 74-71 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Silute won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Statyba forced 21 Silute turnovers. Forward Remigijus Sugintas (200-87) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Andrius Cizikas (197-88) responded with 20 points and guard Evaldas Jurkus (189-84) scored 14 points. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Statyba have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Zalgiris-Sabonio and LKKA-Atletas. Loser Silute dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Statyba's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilnius Perlas-MRU.
