Bottom-ranked Ginasio is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to seventh ranked Barcelos (4-6) 54-47 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 29-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Ginasio outrebounded Barcelos 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Spanish power forward Sergi Coll (204-82) notched 13 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized Mozambican guard Augusto Matos (186-90) supported him with 14 points. Even a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds by Serbian swingman Stefan Djukic (197-89) did not help to save the game for Ginasio. Nigerian forward George Ehiagwina (206-89) added 8 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Newly promoted Barcelos maintains seventh position with 4-6 record. Loser Ginasio still closes the standings with ten games lost. Barcelos will meet Sampaense (#8) in the next round. Ginasio will play against Academica (#9) in Coimbra and hopes to get finally their first victory.
