Everything went according to plan in Akdeniz where seventh ranked Aliaga (6-4) won against 11th ranked Mersin (4-6) 89-82 on Saturday. Mersin trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 32-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-89 at the end of the game. Aliaga made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Mersin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Ryan Toolson (193-85, college: Utah Valley) fired 29 points (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) for the winners. The other American import center Brian Qvale (210-88, college: Montana) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Aliaga's coach Burak Biyiktay allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
