Regular Season Round 13: Ft.Wayne MA - Springfield A. 101-84

Date: December 18, 2011
The Fort Wayne Mad Ants beat the Springfield Armor 101-84 in the Fort Wayne War Memorial Coliseum. Springfield fell into an early deficit from which they could not recover from. Fort Wayne began the contest on a 13-4 run and extended to a lead of 17 points. The difference in the first quarter was the Mad Ants ability to penetrate and get to the free throw line as Fort Wayne attempted 11 more free throws than the Armor. Springfield hung tough and chiseled their deficit to only nine points by the end of the quarter. Lance Hurdle continued to pace Springfield with a game-high 15 first half points, but the Armor’s 14 turnovers helped Fort Wayne maintain its lead. With three players scoring in double digits and eight steals as a team, the Mad Ants took a 14 point advantage into halftime. Springfield won the third quarter by two points, as Travis Cohn led the Armor with seven points in the frame. But Cameron Jones kept the Mad Ants lead in double digits as he took over the quarter with 11 points of his own. The Armor started the fourth quarter on a 10-1 run that cut the Fort Wayne lead down to just three points. Fort Wayne ended that run quickly to build its lead back up to a final margin of 17 points. Jones led the Mad Ants with a game-high 26 points, and Tory Jackson packed the stat sheet with 13 points, a game-high 8 assists and 4 steals. Lance Hurdle led the Armor with 24 points and 6 assists, and Jamar Brown dominated the boards with a game-high 14 rebounds. *Courtesy of www.wane.com
