Regular Season Round 21: Levice - Nitra 78-63

Top ranked Nitra (14-4) recorded its fourth loss on the court of seventh ranked Levice on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Levice 78-63. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Nitra. The game was mostly controlled by Levice. Nitra managed to win third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Levice forced 24 Nitra turnovers. Strangely Nitra outrebounded Levice 35-22 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian-Slovenian forward Stipe Modric (206-79) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Robert Vaden (196-85, college: UAB) who recorded 26 points and Australian forward Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Levice maintains seventh place with 8-11 record. Nitra at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Levice are looking forward to face higher ranked Handlova (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nitra will play against Nova Ves (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
