The game in Coimbra was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Barcelos (4-7) played at the court of eighth ranked Sampaense (4-7). Sampaense managed to secure a 6-point victory 87-81 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for the former international guard Joao Reveles (187-80) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 assists. American center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Miami Dade CC) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. McNeal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Spanish power forward Sergi Coll (204-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Pedro Silva (198-79) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Sampaense and four Barcelos players scored in double figures. Sampaense moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Academica and Barcelos. Sampaense will face higher ranked Lusitania (#4) in Angra in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
