Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Abejas (14-22) rolled over 13th ranked Aguilas Rojas (6-31) in Guanajuato 128-105. The game without a history. Abejas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Aguilas Rojas' 54. It was a great shooting night for Abejas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American forward Lorrenzo Wade (198-85, college: San Diego St.) scored 24 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American-Jamaican forward Mattis McHugh (198-84, college: S.Florida) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Abejas' coach Joe Bryant felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Daryl Dorsey (185-81, college: S.Indiana) responded with 42 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Erick Hare (196-79, college: Idaho Coll.) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Five Abejas and four Aguilas Rojas players scored in double figures. Abejas maintains tenth position with 14-22 record. Aguilas Rojas lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 31 games lost. Abejas will play against Panteras (#12) in Aguascalientes in the next round. Aguilas Rojas will play at home against Pioneros in Cancun and hope to get back on the winning track.
