Rather predictable result in Kiryat Ono where first ranked Elitzur Ramla (6-1) defeated 4th ranked B.C. Habikaa (4-2) 80-69 on Monday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 25-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Elitzur Ramla made 27-of-29 free shots (93.1 percent) during the game, while B.C. Habikaa only scored five points from the stripe. Elitzur Ramla forced 20 B.C. Habikaa turnovers. B.C. Habikaa was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international Shay Doron (175-85, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and American Tanisha Wright (180-83, college: Penn St., agency: LBM Management) who added 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American forward Amanda Thompson (183-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Elitzur Ramla have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-1 record, which they share with Maccabi R.Hen. Newly promoted B.C. Habikaa keeps the fourth place with two games lost. Elitzur Ramla will face Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. B.C. Habikaa will play against Hap.Petah Tikva (#7).
