Qatar completed the semifinal picture at Pan Arab Games. The hosts overcame Algeria today to clinch the second place in Group D. Erfan Ali posted 17 points to lead the effort. Algeria fell at 0-2 record and finished in the third position in the group. Qatar will take on Egypt tomorrow. Algeria will face Kuwait in the game for the 5th place. Qatar aggressively opened the game taking a 17:8 lead after ten minutes. Qatar maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They established a 29:23 halftime lead. Algeria went on a rescue rally in the third term. The margin was cut to just four points with one quarter remaining 40:44. But Qatar proved the difference in the money time. The home team stayed confident and stole a key win at the end. Ndiaye posted 15 points, while Ali Turki and Targuy Alban had 10 points each in the victory. Mounir Benzegala delivered 12 points for Algeria. Nabil Saidi netted 10 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
