No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Vardar (4-10) beat bottom-ranked ABA Strumica (2-13) in Skopje 85-75 on Wednesday. ABA Strumica was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Vardar made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely ABA Strumica outrebounded Vardar 40-28 including 19 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by swingman Vladimir Georgievski (194-82) who scored that evening 26 points and 6 rebounds and guard Darko Radulovic (194-80) supported him with 22 points. Even 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by guard Zoran Delev (184-84) did not help to save the game for ABA Strumica. American center John Chappell (208, college: S.Carolina) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Four ABA Strumica players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Vardar maintains seventh position with 4-10 record. ABA Strumica lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Vardar will meet Kozuv (#8) in the next round. ABA Strumica will play against Kumanovo 2009 and hope to secure a win.
