There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked DniproAzot (6-14) defeated on the road 10th ranked Cherkasy (6-13) 81-74 on Thursday. Cherkasy was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Filipino-American point guard Stanley Pringle (184-87, college: Penn St.) who scored 26 points and 5 assists. American center Michael Dunigan (208-89, college: Oregon, agency: N.E.T.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Willie Solomon (187-78, college: Clemson) who recorded 20 points and FYR Macedonian guard Vojdan Stojanovski (193-87) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Cherkasy players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. DniproAzot have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Cherkasy dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
