Important game to mention about took place in Melbourne. Third ranked Melbourne Tigers (8-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Cairns Taipans (6-7) 67-65 on Friday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Cameron Tragardh (209-83, college: ORU) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Daniel Dillon (194-86, college: Arizona) who added 9 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Brad Hill (198-86) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Andrew Warren (195-87, college: Bradley, agency: Interperformances) scored 20 points. Melbourne Tigers maintains third position with 8-6 record having just two points less than leader Breakers. Cairns Taipans at the other side dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Melbourne Tigers will play against Gold Coast Blaze (#4) in Broadbeach in the next round. Cairns Taipans will play at home against the league's leader New Zealand Breakers in Auckland and hope to get back on the winning track.
