D League
Regular Season Round 15: Texas L. - Los Angeles D. 108-91
Date: December 23, 2011
If there were concerns about having to face the front-running Los Angeles D-Fenders twice in three days, the Texas Legends didn't show it. Once again, the Legends used a strong second quarter to take the lead and build from there, beating the D-Fenders 108-91 at Dr. Pepper Arena. While the Legends remain in last place, they dropped the D-Fenders from first to fourth in the D-League West. CHris Roberts continued to show no trouble fitting back in with the team he finished last season with, scoring 31 points off the bench in his second Texas game. The Legends trailed 18-11 shortly after Roberts came in for the first time, and then both he and Anthony Vereen went to work. Halfway through the second period, they each had 13 points and the Legends had a 37-27 lead. Vereen finished with 19 points while Booker Woodfox added 18. Woodfox found his stroke in the second half, scoring 14. The Legends once again struggled to stop Costner in the second half, where he scored 18 of his 21 points. But Texas kept everyone else in check to pull away with a 52-43 second half. *Courtesy of www.examiner.com
