Regular Season Round 11: Olimpi - Armia 62-63

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Superleague took place in Tbilisi. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked Olympus (8-2) to leader Armia (10-0) 63-62 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Olympus. Olympus cut a 14-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. The former international forward Irakli Sakvarelidze (201-86, college: Dominican, NY) saved the victory by scoring 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Ben Woodside (180-85, college: N.Dakota St., agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international guard Giorgi Gamqrelidze (183-86, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals and Serbian center Ilija Milutinovic (213-88, college: Oakland, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Olympus. Armia have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Newly promoted Olympus keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Kutaisi. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
