Regular Season Round 3: Miami Heat - Boston C. 115-107
Date: December 27, 2011
The Miami Heat beat Boston 115-107 this afternoon (NZT) to maintain their impressive start to the National Basketball Association season and hand the Celtics their second consecutive loss. The Heat dominated for much of the game and led by 15 points at half-time, but the Celtics created some tension late in the fourth quarter and reduced the deficit to three at one point. Miami are 2-0 on the new season after also winning their opener at defending champions Dallas on Christmas Day (Boxing Day NZT). Boston sorely missed the presence of the injured Paul Pierce, who would have guarded LeBron James. Miami, who beat Boston 4-1 in last season's Eastern Conference semi-finals, marched to a 69-54 lead at the break with James, who finished with 26 points, in sharp form. The most impressive performance of the night though belonged to Miami rookie Norris Cole, who on his home debut shot 20 points and made four assists and was particularly incisive in the nervy finale. Ray Allen top scored for the Celtics with 28 points, including six three-pointers. *Courtesy of https://tvnz.co.nz
