There was no surprise when 12th ranked BK Loko Plzen (5-15) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Levharti Chomutov (7-13) 85-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Levharti Chomutov. BK Loko Plzen managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Levharti Chomutov won last quarter 28-18. They also forced 19 BK Loko Plzen turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Rob Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Pavel Stanek (203-76, agency: Court Side) who added 25 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Forward Ladislav Toth (196-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Stepan Vrubl (186-76) scored 13 points. Five BK Loko Plzen players scored in double figures. BK Loko Plzen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Levharti Chomutov maintains ninth position with 7-13 record. BK Loko Plzen lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Levharti Chomutov will meet higher ranked BC Kolin (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BK Loko Plzen will play against BK Decin (#5) and hope to secure a win.
