Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Marousi (0-11) lost to tenth ranked Aris (4-6) in Thessaloniki 71-79 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 47-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American-German forward Sergio Kerusch (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Dominic James (180-86, college: Marquette) contributed with 17 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Aris players scored in double figures. Aris' coach Vangelis Alexandris used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Nestoras Kommatos (203-77) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) added 14 points and 8 assists in the effort for Marousi. Aris moved-up to eighth place. Marousi at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Aris will face higher ranked AGOR (#5) in Rethymno in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Marousi will play at home against KAOD (#11) in Dramas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
