The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Lechugueros won second period 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Halcones UV Xalapa forced 20 Lechugueros turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. The former international forward Victor Mariscal (198-72) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Davin White (186-81, college: CS Northridge) chipped in 19 points and 9 assists during the contest. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Enrique Zuniga (193-76, college: Grand Canyon) scored 20 points. Five Halcones UV Xalapa and four Lechugueros players scored in double figures.
