Proliga top team - Alges (8-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Fisica (4-5) in Torres Vedras 89-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fisica. The game was mostly controlled by Alges. Fisica managed to win third quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Alges forced 19 Fisica turnovers. It was a good game for American forward DeSean White (203-86, college: Northwood Fl.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 7 rebounds. The former international swingman Joao Manuel (192-79) contributed with 27 points and 4 steals for the winners. Naturalized Guinea-Bissau forward Josimar Cardoso (201-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Mozambican guard Ricardo Rodrigues (185-81) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Fisica. Four Fisica players scored in double figures. Fisica's coach Ivan Kostourkov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alges maintains first place with 8-1 record. Fisica at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Oliveirense and Electrico FC. Alges are looking forward to face Electrico FC (#8) in Ponte de Sor in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fisica will play against Oliveirense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
