Regular Season Round 24: Triobet - Statyba 85-64

There was a small surprise in Jonava where ninth ranked Triobet (13-11) smashed 7th ranked Statyba (13-11) 85-64 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-64. Triobet outrebounded Statyba 44-25 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Triobet players scored in double figures. Triobet's coach Kestutis Narusevicius felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) who recorded 19 points and guard Mindaugas Budzinauskas (198-73) added 9 points respectively. Triobet moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Matinga-Juod. and Statyba. Triobet will meet ABRO-Universitetas (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Statyba will play against Zalgiris-Sabonio (#5) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
