There was no surprise when 17th ranked TBB Trier (5-12) was outleveled by sixth ranked EWE Baskets (10-6) in Oldenburg 105-72 on Sunday. The game without a history. EWE Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 61.7 percent from the field and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. EWE Baskets outrebounded TBB Trier 33-18 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. EWE Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American players dominated also this game. Power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side and guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton, agency: Priority Sports) accounted for 17 points and 7 assists. Five EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. Forward Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) came up with 17 points and guard John Bynum (191-78, college: Metro St., agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 15 points respectively for TBB Trier in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for EWE Baskets. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser TBB Trier dropped to the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with EnBW L'burg and LTi 46ers. EWE Baskets will meet league's leader Brose Baskets in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TBB Trier will play against New Yorker Phantoms (#6) in Braunschweig and hope to secure a win.
