The most interesting game of round 14 was a derby match between two teams from Slovenia. The game took place in Lasko where fifth ranked Union Olimpija won against host Zlatorog (2-13) 69-63. The game without a history. Union Olimpija led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Union Olimpija especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 71.4 percentage. Guard Jaka Blazic (193-90) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Center Alen Omic (213-92) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Croatian power forward Jure Skific (202-88) scored 11 points. Zlatorog's coach Ivan Sunara rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Union Olimpija maintains fifth position with 9-5 record. Zlatorog lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Union Olimpija are looking forward to face league's second-placed Cedevita in Zagreb in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zlatorog will have a break next round.
