Regular Season Round 9: TTT Riga - Olimpia 96-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Riga. First ranked Latvian TTT Riga faced second-best Belarusian Olimpia GrGAU. Host TTT Riga (8-1) smashed guests from Grodno (6-2) 96-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Olimpia GrGAU. The game without a history. TTT Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. TTT Riga shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Gunta Basko (181-80, college: Siena, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Ieva Krastina (175-90, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Four TTT Riga players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Natallia Kozun (189-88) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and Russian-Ukrainian center Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-81) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TTT Riga have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending Latvian champion maintains first place with 8-1 record. Olimpia GrGAU at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
