Rather expected game in Panevezys where 4th placed Estonian TTU/Kalev (3-6) was defeated by first ranked Lithuanian Techasas (7-2) 92-79 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 27-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Techasas outrebounded TTU/Kalev 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Sarunas Kulevicius (190-89) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Osvaldas Matulionis (200-91) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Techasas players scored in double figures. Techasas' coach Gintaras Leonavicius allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Illimar Pilk (195-88) produced 20 points and American center Andrew Arnold (208-86, college: Lewis-Clark St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Techasas maintains first place in Group B with 7-2 record. Loser TTU/Kalev keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Techasas will face Rapla (#5) at home in the next round. TTU/Kalev will play against the league's second-placed Sakalai in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
