Quarter-Finals Round 2: Pioneros - Soles 87-66

Date: January 13, 2012
The game was mostly controlled by Pioneros. Soles managed to win third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. Pioneros outrebounded Soles 36-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) notched 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) supported him with 22 points. Millsap is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 13 points by Venezuelan point guard David Cubillan (183-87, college: Marquette) did not help to save the game for Soles. American forward Carl Edwards (196-81, college: Charleston) added 16 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
