5th ranked Kings (8-10) fell to sixth ranked Townsville Crocodiles (8-6) in overtime by four points 114-118 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kings. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kings won third quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Kings used huge pressure winning it 18-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 17-17. Townsville Crocodiles made 37-of-43 free shots (86.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Kings outrebounded Townsville Crocodiles 56-35 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Kings were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international forward Jacob Holmes (201-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Eddie Gill (184-78, college: Weber St., agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. Naturalized Kazakhstan swingman Anatoly Bose (200-88, college: Nicholls St., agency: Priority Sports) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Julian Khazzouh (209-86) added 17 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Kings. Five Townsville Crocodiles and four Kings players scored in double figures. Townsville Crocodiles moved-up to fifth place. Kings at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Townsville Crocodiles will face bottom-ranked Wollongong Hawks (#9) in Gwynneville in the next round. Kings will play at home against the league's leader Perth Wildcats.
