The game had a very big importance for Malaysian KL Dragons as it allowed them to take a leadership position. KL Dragons defeated placed Filipino Petron Blaze in Kuala Lumpur 83-77 in overtime. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 24-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 10-4. KL Dragons outrebounded Petron Blaze 48-12 including a 31-0 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Petron Blaze helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Petron Blaze's coach Ato Agustin rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Petron Blaze at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. Petron Blaze will play next round against strong Philippine Patriots trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manila - Philippine Patriots. KL Dragons will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Satria Muda in Jakarta.
