Eighth-ranked Dnipro (11-12) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Budivelnyk (18-5) in Dnepropetrovsk. The visitors from Kyiv managed to secure only two-point victory 70-68. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dnipro won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Budivelnyk won last quarter 17-16. Naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Zach Morley (203-83, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. At the losing side international guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) responded with 18 points and American swingman Qyntel Woods (203-81, college: N.Mississippi JC) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Budivelnyk have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Dnipro lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with BC Kyiv. Budivelnyk will play against league's second-placed BC Donetsk at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dnipro will play against Hoverla (#7) in Frankivsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
