Regular Season Round 16: Monthey - Geneve Lions 66-58

An interesting game for Monthey (10-4) which hosted in Monthey their biggest opponent Geneve Lions (10-4). Third ranked Monthey managed to get a 8-point victory 66-58. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-58. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. International power forward Jonathan Dubas (202-91) contributed with 7 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Sean Barnette (195-86, college: Wingate, agency: Warren Sports International) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Erroyl Bing (198-82, college: E.Carolina) added 11 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Geneve Lions. Monthey moved-up to second place, which they share with Fribourg and Geneve Lions. Monthey is looking forward to face SAV Vacallo (#5) in Chiasso in the next round. Geneve Lions will play on the road against Starwings in Basel and are hoping to win this game.
