Regular Season Round 18: Toronto Univ. - Ryerson 62-73

The most interesting game of round 18 in the CIS was a home defeat of 4th ranked Blues (5-8) to third ranked Rams (6-7) 73-62 in the game for the third place. The game was mostly controlled by Rams. Blues managed to win third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Blues 46-33 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. International point guard Jahmal Jones (183-91) scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Bjorn Michaelsen (201) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Rams players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Alex Hill (196, college: Cornell) with 28 points and 9 rebounds and center Andrew Wasik (201) scored 16 points. Rams maintains third position with 6-7 record having seven points less than leader Laurier. Blues lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Laurentian. Rams' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Toronto, ON to the arena Lions.
