Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Horsholm (8-11) defeated at home 9th ranked Horsens IC (6-13) 96-90 on Thursday. Horsens IC trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 30-21 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 90-96 at the end of the game. Horsholm dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Horsens IC's 32 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American power forward Joe Benjamin (201-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Jonas Bro (186-87) helped adding 20 points. At the losing side American forward Will Harris (198-86, college: Albany) responded with 27 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Four Horsholm and five Horsens IC players scored in double figures. Horsholm moved-up to fourth place, which they share with SISU. Horsens IC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Horsholm will face higher ranked Naestved (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Horsens IC will play against Falcon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
