Regular Season Round 15: Balkan - Chernomorets 90-86

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Chernomorets' (2-13) road loss to sixth ranked Balkan (4-11) 86-90 on Saturday. The game without a history. Balkan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Balkan looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Chernomorets' players. The best player for the winners was guard Dimitar Filipov (185-89) who scored 19 points and 7 assists. American power forward Isiah Martin (203-89, college: Indiana St.) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovenian guard Dejan Dunovic (193-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who recorded 25 points and 7 rebounds and FYR Macedonian center Kiril Pavlovski (210-85, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Balkan maintains sixth place with 4-11 record. Chernomorets lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Spartak Pleven. Balkan will meet at home bottom-ranked Spartak Pleven (#8) in the next round. Chernomorets will play against Euroins Cherno More in Varna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
