There was no surprise when 4th ranked Latina Basket (9-11) was defeated at home by first ranked Omegna (18-2) 77-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Omegna. Latina Basket was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Latina Basket 36-20 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Stefano Masciadri (200-89) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Tommaso Plateo (191-78) produced 16 points and naturalized Serbian forward Marko Micevic (198-89) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Omegna have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record. Loser Latina Basket dropped to the third place with 11 games lost. Omegna will face Anagni (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Latina Basket will play against the league's leader Trento and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
