Regular Season Round 13: Juventus - Rudupis 87-81

One of the most interesting games of round 13 was a derby match between two teams from Lithuania. The game took place in Utena where sixth ranked Juventus won against visiting Rudupis (9-4) 87-81. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But Rudupis won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Juventus looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Darius Pakamanis (193-81) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Gintaras Kadziulis (193-80) answered with 13 points and 6 assists and forward Povilas Butkevicius (203-87) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Rudupis. Four Juventus and five Rudupis players scored in double figures. Rudupis' coach Virginijus Seskus let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Juventus maintains sixth place with 7-8 record. Loser Rudupis dropped to the third position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
