Sixth-ranked Maranhao (3-7) made lots of trouble for third ranked Sao Jose (8-3) on Wednesday. Sao Jose managed to secure only two-point victory 65-63. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 38-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Sao Jose forced 21 Maranhao turnovers. The former international center Alessandra De Oliviera (201-73) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Patricia Ribeiro (176-90) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists during the contest.
